The Critical Review of Real Estate Law is one of the oldest and most prestigious journals in the legal field. Founded in 1925 by Don Jerónimo González and a group of registrars linked to the General Directorate of Registries and Notaries, the Association of Property and Mercantile Registrars of Spain soon assumed its ownership, as explained in more detail in this website in the historical part. However, it retains its functional autonomy.

Its own scope was initially linked to real estate and registration law, but progressively it was covering all private, civil and commercial law and even certain matters of public law linked to the registration world, such as urban law..
