The terms of the Bankruptcy Act, in contrast to the previous set-up under the Code of Commerce and the Civil Code, allow the effects that a declaration of bankruptcy has on the bankrupt's assethandling faculties to be graduated in order to adjust to the circumstances of the case. The Bankruptcy Act also features an annullability procedure to penalize any acts by the bankrupt that infringe those limitations, in contrast to the previous nullity procedure, which was deducted by case law from article 878.2 of the Code of Commerce.
