The author conducts an analysis of the 2006 Peruvian law on collateral, stressing the possibility of using chattel mortgages on future assets. A Registry of Chattel Mortgages is created, which merges more than ten previously existing registries. The author criticises out-of-court foreclosure procedures as being contrary to the Peruvian Constitution.
