CADASTRE IN PERU

Abstract

The article discusses the cadastre. It therefore gives an overview of doctrine on the subject. The article also creates law, such as where it classifies types of cadastres. The article also shows that the cadastre is not a new feature in Peruvian law, because Peru's legislation already contained rules concerning cadastres, such as, inter alia, the mining cadastre. The cadastre must be made an object of study in registration, municipal and administrative law. The most highly evolved registries, the article states, are the tenement registry and the company registry. Next, the cadastre is defined, and afterwards the origin of the word «cadastre» is given. The cadastre's background is also reviewed. It is explained why the cadastre is advantageous. An overview is then given of the cadastre in codified law and also in non-codified law. This is followed by an overview of the area of knowledge. There is also a review of the cadastre in a number of countries. There is also an overview of Peruvian legislation on double entry, showing that Peruvian legislation is quite advanced in that area.
