Abstract

The Statute of Autonomy of the Canary Islands mandates that the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, in accordance with commercial legislation, has exclusive jurisdiction over cooperatives and social economy entities, which has been fulfilled with the promulgation of the Social Economy Law of Canary Islands and the Law of Cooperative Societies of the Canary Islands. Concepts and principles of action are previously configured in the general legislative framework (Social Economy Law of the Canary Islands) with the corresponding special delimitation through the Law of Cooperative Societies of the Canary Islands. Directly exploring the Canarian collaborative housing cooperatives means that their analysis configures a framework of consequences in line with the existing situation in other state legislative frameworks.
