Abstract

This work analizes the effects of polygamous marriages in Spain through a revision of more than hundred cases of Spanish jurisprudence and administrative practice. Although poligamy is not consistent with fundamental rights, some rights of women, in cases of real poligamy, must be recognized and protected. On the other hand, potential poligamy theory, already abandonned in other countries, has spread out in Spain, affecting rights of many migrants.
